State of the art cardiology right in the heart of Agadir.

Located in the center of Agadir, the Southern Heart Center is the first clinic of its kind in south Morocco specialized in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery.

The opening of the Southern Heart Center filled up a big gap in Morocco’s healthcare, offering the southern region a state of the art technological level and a qualified medical and paramedical staff. Until recently, advanced treatment in cardiology assuring a total coverage of cardiac patients was only available in Rabat and Casablanca. Many patients with their relatives had then to travel several hours in difficult conditions, often ending with catastrophic consequences.

In addition, Agadir - for being an attractive seaside resort - has seen an ever increasing European population. This led to the necessity of having the ability to provide cardiovascular treatments according to european standards regarding emergencies as well as the patient’s following hospitalization.

Since its opening, the Southern Heart Center has regularly treated foreign patients, coming often in very critical health situation. Most national as well as many international health insurances have thus recognized the Southern Heart Center as one of their official partner clinic in Morocco.

In the field of interventional cardiology, every year hundreds of patients have been successfully treated in our Cath lab. Thanks to our close cooperation and efficient teamwork with other physicians in the region we succeeded to overcome the threat of cardiovascular diseases in the south of Morocco.

In the field of cardiac surgery, the Southern Heart Center made history by successfully performing the first open heart surgery in south Morocco. Furthermore, in 2009, our Southern Heart Center cardiac surgery team has successfully carried out for the first time in Morocco the latest state of the art coronary bypass surgery by using exclusively mammary arteries. The event was broadcasted by the national public broadcasting service on Television and radio as well as by several moroccan newspapers.
